General Dentistry
Our dentists provide general dental services in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders and diseases affecting the teeth and gums. Their goal, to help you maintain a healthy smile for the entire family. Our general dentistry services in La Mirada include: crowns, bridges, dentures, root canal, periodontal, TMJ therapy and fillings.
White Mercury-Free Fillings
Dental fillings are used to repair a tooth damaged by decay or injury. Cavity treatment includes removal of the decayed portion of the tooth and then filling the area with composite. Fillings protect your teeth from further decay as well as alleviate any pain associated with decay. We use only tooth colored (white fillings) made of composite or porcelain that restore and mimic the natural appearance of the tooth structure.
Crowns
Crowns are synthetic tooth-shaped caps made of resin, porcelain, metal or porcelain fused to metal, that are placed on the top of a tooth. Crowns are used to restore a tooth’s function and appearance when portions have deteriorated and must be removed.
Bridges
Dental Bridges are used to replace sections of damaged or missing teeth in order to provide a natural-looking appearance and proper bite. Bridges can be permanent or removable. Custom made to fit and function properly, bridges are barely visible and can bring back the natural shape of the mouth as well as the proper bite alignment between upper and lower teeth.
Dentures
Dentures are removable artificial dental appliances that replace missing teeth and surrounding tissue for patients in La Mirada. Dentures are made to look like your natural teeth. There are two types of dentures: complete dentures and partial dentures. Complete dentures are used to replace all of the teeth and partial dentures are used when some of the natural teeth remain. Partial dentures fill in the gaps created by missing teeth and also prevent other teeth from shifting.
Root Canal
Root Canal therapy is a restorative technique that involves the cleaning of the infected nerve area and filling the root canal space. When a tooth is fractured, the health of the pulp (the living tissue inside the tooth) can be compromised. Any decay in the pulp can lead to further decline in the overall health of the damaged tooth.
Persistent problems including sensitivity to hot or cold is usually an indication of declining tooth health. Root canal treatment usually lasts a lifetime, although from time to time, a tooth may have to be retreated due to new infections.
Tooth Extractions
A tooth extraction can become necessary for many reasons. Our La Mirada dentists will be able to help you with the tooth extraction while making your as relaxed and as comfortable as possible during the procedure.
